Ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to India, Beijing has signalled a softer tone on relations between the two countries. China has called for India and China to properly manage their differences and approach bilateral ties from a strategic and long-term perspective. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks on Friday.
Xi Jinping is travelling to India to attend the BRICS Summit, during which he is also expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His visit is being viewed as significant as the Chinese president is returning to India after a long gap.
