Four Masked Robbers Break Into Home in Orai, Hold Couple at Gunpoint and Escape With Lakhs in Cash and Jewellery

Orai, Uttar Pradesh: Four masked men allegedly stormed the home of a retired railway employee in Simariya village under the Konch police station area late Friday night. The robbers reportedly held the sleeping couple hostage at gunpoint, tied their hands and legs, and stuffed cloth into their mouths to prevent them from raising an alarm. After spending nearly three hours searching and looting the house, the suspects fled with around ₹2.5 lakh in cash and gold and silver jewellery worth approximately ₹5 lakh.

Robbers Entered the House Around 1 AM

According to information available, the retired railway employee, a resident of Simariya village, was sleeping at home with his wife on Friday night. Around 1 AM, four masked men allegedly entered the house carrying country-made pistols.

The suspects reportedly woke the couple and threatened them with weapons before taking them hostage. They tied the couple’s hands and legs with ropes and stuffed cloth into their mouths to prevent them from calling for help.

After restraining the couple, the robbers allegedly searched the entire house without resistance.

Looted the House for Nearly Three Hours

The suspects reportedly remained inside the house for around three hours. They searched cupboards and other parts of the property and allegedly took approximately ₹2.5 lakh in cash along with gold and silver jewellery worth around ₹5 lakh.

After collecting the valuables, the four men fled the scene. Once the robbers had left, the couple somehow managed to untie themselves and subsequently informed the police about the incident.

Police Launch Investigation

The incident triggered a police response in the area. Circle Officer Parmeshwar Prasad, accompanied by police personnel, reached the spot and inspected the crime scene. Officers also questioned the couple and conducted inquiries in the surrounding area.

Police have registered a case against four accused under relevant sections, including robbery and assault. Multiple police teams have been deployed to identify and apprehend the suspects. Investigators are also collecting additional evidence and examining possible escape routes and areas surrounding the village.
