Key Features of the Touchscreen MacBook Pro

The new MacBook Pro runs on the latest macOS 27 Golden Gate. It boasts a Tandem OLED display of up to 16.3 inches, with peak brightness reaching 2000 nits. The screen supports True Tone technology, adaptive refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz, and multi-touch gesture capabilities.

An exciting addition is the Dynamic Island feature first introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro series in September 2022. The display also includes anti-reflective and fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coatings, plus an optional nano-texture glass for reduced glare. Additional hardware highlights include a backlit Magic Keyboard and a 12-megapixel webcam.

The M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are built on a 3nm manufacturing process. Each features an 18-core CPU composed of 12 performance cores and six high-performance super cores. The super cores enhance single-threaded performance, while the performance cores improve efficiency and multi-threaded tasks. A dedicated N1 networking chip supports Bluetooth 6, Wi-Fi 7, and Thread networking technologies.

The 16.3-inch M5 Pro model contains a 100Wh battery that enables up to 24 hours of video streaming and supports 140W fast charging. In comparison, the M5 Max models offer video streaming times of 20 hours for the 14-inch variant and 22 hours for the 16-inch version on a single charge.

This launch marks Apple’s entrance into touchscreen MacBook Pro laptops, combining powerful performance with advanced display technology and improved battery life. It is positioned to serve professionals seeking high-end computing and versatile user interaction in portable form factors.
