Ahead of the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in New Delhi, Beijing has sent positive signals regarding its relations with India. Xi Jinping will arrive in India on Saturday, marking his first visit to the country in seven years. The main purpose of his visit is to attend the BRICS Summit. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that Prime Minister Modi and President Xi are meeting for the third consecutive year. The two leaders had previously met in Kazan and Tianjin.
Mao Ning said that China is willing to work with India to implement the strategic guidance provided by the two leaders. She emphasized the need to increase dialogue, strengthen cooperation and properly manage the differences between the two countries.
