Bhuvneshwar finished with 4 wickets for just 10 runs from his four overs. His spell completely disrupted Meerut’s batting lineup.

Lucknow Falcons Reach the Final for the First Time
With this victory, Lucknow Falcons reached the UP T20 League final for the first time in the tournament’s history. The victory was particularly significant because they defeated Meerut Mavericks, the league-stage table toppers, in Qualifier 1.
Meerut still have another opportunity to reach the final. The team that loses Qualifier 1 gets another chance through Qualifier 2, where they will face the winner of the Eliminator. According to the UP T20 League schedule, Qualifier 2 is scheduled for September 4, 2026, while the final is scheduled for September 6.
Bhuvneshwar Says He Was Slightly Nervous Seeing a 140-Run Target
After the match, Bhuvneshwar Kumar admitted that he was slightly concerned after seeing a total around 140, but he believed the score could be defended if Lucknow made a strong start during the powerplay.
His strategy was straightforward: make the most of the swing, bowl full-length deliveries and keep the batters under threat of being bowled or trapped leg before wicket. Once the early wickets arrived, Lucknow’s confidence grew and they took complete control of the contest.
Bhuvneshwar’s performance was reminiscent of the swing bowling that has been one of his trademarks throughout his career. His remarkable 4/10 spell proved to be the decisive turning point of the match and earned Lucknow a direct ticket to the final.
