Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh
A schoolteacher in the Baksha area of Jaunpur has been accused of seriously assaulting a 13-year-old student. The student’s father alleges that the teacher slapped his son 25 to 30 times on the ear over an unspecified issue. The student was subsequently found to have suffered a ruptured eardrum. Based on the father’s complaint, police have registered a case against the accused teacher and launched an investigation.
The incident reportedly took place at MRD School in Kazi Newada, under the Baksha area. Harishchandra Yadav, a resident of Goriyapur, said his 13-year-old son Harsh Yadav alias Lucky is a Class 8 student at the school. The student’s father has accused teacher Anand Yadav of assaulting his son.
Incident Allegedly Took Place on Tuesday
According to Harishchandra Yadav, teacher Anand Yadav allegedly beat his son at the school on Tuesday following an issue. The father claims that the teacher slapped the student approximately 25 to 30 times on the ear.
After returning home from school, the student’s condition reportedly began to deteriorate. His family took him to a doctor for treatment, where an examination reportedly revealed that his eardrum had been ruptured.
The student subsequently underwent a medical examination at the Naupedwa Community Health Centre. Following the initial medical assessment, he was referred to the district hospital. The family then approached the police regarding the student’s injuries.
Police Register Case on Father’s Complaint
After receiving the student’s father’s written complaint, Baksha Police registered a case against teacher Anand Yadav. Station House Officer Prashant Kumar Singh said that an investigation is underway.
Police are examining the allegations made in the complaint, the student’s medical report and other facts related to the incident. Investigators may also record statements from people present at the school and examine other aspects of the alleged incident.
Teacher Denies the Allegations
Meanwhile, accused teacher Anand Yadav has denied assaulting the student. He said that he did not beat the child and alleged that he was being falsely implicated in the matter.
The statements of the student’s family and the accused teacher therefore differ. The actual circumstances of the incident are expected to become clearer based on the police investigation and available evidence.
Medical Report Considered Crucial
The student’s medical report is expected to be an important piece of evidence in the case. Police will investigate how the injury to the student’s ear occurred and whether it is connected to the alleged assault.
For now, police have registered the case and begun their investigation. The incident has caused concern among the student’s family and has also raised questions about physical punishment of children in schools in the name of discipline. However, the allegations against the teacher can only be conclusively established after the police investigation is completed.
