Mumbai, Maharashtra. Indian stock markets are expected to open on a weak note on Tuesday. Investors appear to be cautious amid mixed global and domestic cues. At around 7 a.m., GIFT Nifty was trading nearly 43 points, or 0.18%, lower at around 24,168, indicating the possibility of a negative start for the Sensex and Nifty.
Global market signals are likely to influence trading sentiment. Mixed trends in international markets and the absence of any major domestic trigger could keep early trading subdued. Geopolitical tensions may also affect investor sentiment amid concerns over the possibility of new U.S. sanctions on Iran.
Several companies are scheduled to announce their quarterly results today, including Ardee Industries, MV Electrosystems, State Trading Corporation of India and Vineet Laboratories. Investors will closely watch their financial performance, and the respective stocks could see significant volatility following the earnings announcements.
IT major TCS is also expected to remain in focus. The board of its wholly owned subsidiary, Tata Consultancy Services Netherlands BV, has approved the acquisition of 100% equity shares in MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, a subsidiary of Porsche AG. The proposed transaction has an enterprise value of €320 million.
The acquisition is being viewed as significant for TCS’s international business expansion strategy. The development could influence investor sentiment towards the company’s shares after the market opens.
Apart from this, investors will also monitor corporate developments related to Aegis Logistics, Kotak Mahindra Bank and other companies. Overall, market direction on Tuesday is likely to be driven by global cues, corporate announcements and quarterly earnings results.
