In an international skydiving event held in Libya, 65 skydivers set a Guinness World Record after jumping from an altitude of around 13,000 feet. Three Indians living in the United Arab Emirates were also part of this historic achievement. Guinness World Records officially confirmed the record on August 14.
The event was held in Libya on August 7 and featured skydivers from 38 countries. Participants jumped from an Ilyushin Il-76TD military aircraft while carrying the flags of their respective countries.
The three Indian participants took part in the adventure carrying the Indian Tricolour. For them, the event was not only a sporting achievement but also an opportunity to represent India on an international platform.
Three Indians Become Part of the Record
The three Indians who participated in the record were Abhishek Rawat from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh; Isha Raj from Patna, Bihar; and Jamsheer Thanalot from Kannur, Kerala.
All three currently live in the United Arab Emirates. They joined skydivers from different countries in taking part in the challenging event.
Their presence was particularly notable as they jumped from the sky carrying the Indian Tricolour. Becoming part of a world-record achievement while representing India with the national flag was a proud moment for them.
Jump from an Altitude of 13,000 Feet
A total of 65 skydivers jumped from an altitude of approximately 13,000 feet during the event. Performing a mass skydive from such a height is challenging both technically and physically.
During the jump, skydivers have to carefully monitor wind speed and direction, their parachutes and the positions of other participants around them. Precise coordination among all participants is essential when attempting a group record.
An Ilyushin Il-76TD military aircraft was used for the event. After jumping from the aircraft, all participants completed their skydives according to the prescribed procedures.
