Dinhata, West Bengal: The Special Task Force (STF) of the West Bengal Police has arrested a young man from Delhi in connection with an alleged espionage case involving suspected links to a network reportedly connected with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The arrested individual has been identified as Pradipta Bose.
Arrest Made in Delhi
According to the STF, Bose was arrested from the Bengali Patti area of Delhi. Following his arrest, he was brought to Dinhata in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar district on Thursday for further questioning.
Investigators are questioning him about his alleged contacts, activities and possible connections with other individuals under investigation.
Four Others Already Arrested
The STF had previously arrested four people in the case over suspected links with the ISI. Three of them were reportedly arrested from the Dinhata area.
According to officials, Pradipta Bose’s name emerged during the questioning of the previously arrested suspects.
Following the lead, an STF team travelled to Delhi and conducted an operation in the Bengali Patti area, where Bose was subsequently arrested.
Reports indicate that five people have now been arrested within the past week in connection with suspected ISI links.
Investigators are examining the relationship between the accused and trying to determine whether they were part of a wider network.
Why the Siliguri Corridor Is Important
The case has attracted significant attention because of the strategic importance of the Siliguri Corridor, commonly known as the “Chicken’s Neck.”
The narrow corridor connects India’s northeastern states with the rest of the country and is considered one of India’s most strategically sensitive regions.

The West Bengal STF suspects that Pradipta Bose and the other accused could potentially be part of a larger network operating across different parts of India.
