Bhind, Madhya Pradesh: A shocking murder case has been reported from Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh. Police have arrested the victim’s son-in-law and younger brother in connection with the alleged killing.
According to police, the victim was allegedly murdered as part of a conspiracy linked to financial difficulties over car loan EMIs.
Investigators allege that the accused forced the victim to consume a poisonous substance before strangling him. They allegedly placed his body inside the trunk of a car and later dumped it beneath a culvert.
Victim Identified as Atar Singh Jatav
According to Mau Police Station, the victim was identified as 45-year-old Atar Singh Jatav, a resident of Ghamuri village.
His body was found on July 21 in a field beneath a culvert near the village.
Police initially registered an inquest and began investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. However, after receiving the post-mortem report and examining other evidence, the case was converted into a murder investigation.
Police Use Technical Evidence
During the investigation, police reportedly examined several types of evidence.
These included:
- Call detail records
- Technical evidence
- Clues from the crime scene
- Statements and interrogation of suspects
- Post-mortem findings
Based on the investigation, police questioned the victim’s son-in-law and younger brother.
Following interrogation, both men were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder.
How the Alleged Murder Took Place
According to police, the accused first forced Atar Singh to consume a poisonous substance.
After he allegedly became unconscious, the accused reportedly strangled him using a cloth.
Police further allege that the body was then placed inside the trunk of a car.
The accused allegedly drove around for some time before abandoning the body beneath a culvert near Ghamuri village.
Car Loan EMI Pressure Allegedly Behind Crime
Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim’s son-in-law was facing financial difficulties related to his car loan EMIs.
According to police, this financial pressure may have been one of the motives behind the alleged murder.
However, investigators are also examining whether any other financial or family disputes played a role in the incident.
Two Accused Produced Before Court
Following their arrest, both accused were produced before the court.
Police said that the investigation is still underway and further legal action will depend on the evidence collected during the probe.
Officials have also said that if the investigation establishes the involvement of any other person, appropriate legal action will be taken.
The allegations against the accused remain subject to the ongoing investigation and judicial process.
