A shocking murder case has emerged from Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh, where a man was allegedly killed as part of a conspiracy to avoid paying the installments (EMIs) on a car loan. Police have arrested the victim’s son-in-law and younger brother, accusing them of jointly carrying out the murder. According to investigators, the accused allegedly forced the victim to consume a poisonous substance before strangling him to death. They later transported the body in the trunk of a car and dumped it beneath a culvert.
According to Mau Police Station, the victim was identified as 45-year-old Atar Singh Jatav, a resident of Ghamuri village. His body was discovered on July 21 in a field beneath a culvert near the village. Police initially registered an inquest and launched an investigation. Based on the post-mortem report and other evidence, the case was later converted into a murder investigation.
During the investigation, police relied on technical evidence, call detail records, clues collected from the crime scene, and interrogation of suspects. These findings led investigators to question the victim’s son-in-law and younger brother. Following interrogation, both were arrested for their alleged involvement in the crime.
Police claim that the accused first forced Atar Singh to consume a poisonous substance. After he became unconscious, they allegedly strangled him using a cloth. The body was then placed in the trunk of a car, and the accused reportedly drove around for some time to avoid raising suspicion before abandoning the body beneath a culvert near Ghamuri village.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim’s son-in-law was facing financial difficulties in paying the EMIs on his car loan. According to police, this financial pressure was one of the motives behind the alleged murder. However, investigators are also examining whether any additional financial or family-related disputes contributed to the crime.
Both accused have been produced before the court following their arrest. Police said the investigation is ongoing, and further legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected. Officials added that if the investigation reveals the involvement of any other individual, appropriate action will also be initiated in accordance with the law.
