Police have arrested a man named Omkar in connection with the knife attack on a young woman in Agra’s Shastripuram area. According to police, the accused was angry because the woman had blocked his mobile number and refused to communicate with him. In a fit of anger, he allegedly went to attack her with a knife. After the incident, he was preparing to flee to another state, but police tracked him down with the help of surveillance.
The incident took place on Wednesday morning near JCB Chauraha in the Shastripuram area. The 18-year-old woman, a resident of the area, was travelling on her scooter when Omkar allegedly stopped her by placing his motorcycle in front of her. He then attacked her with a knife and allegedly struck her on the neck.
The woman showed courage during the attack and confronted the accused. When people nearby began approaching the scene, Omkar fled. After receiving information about the incident, police launched a search for him.
With the help of surveillance technology, police traced the accused’s location. During the investigation, officers learned that he was preparing to flee to another state after the attack. Police subsequently arrested him in Shastripuram.
