Mumbai, Maharashtra: Bollywood actor Govinda has opened up about one of the most difficult periods of his life following the death of his mother, Nirmala Devi. The actor recalled being devastated by the loss and said he was emotionally so overwhelmed that he even experienced suicidal thoughts. He also recounted an incident in which he began entering the Narmada River.
Govinda said he shared a very deep bond with his mother and that her death left him shattered. Following her passing, he felt as though there was nothing left in his life.
‘I Felt Everything Was Over’
Speaking to ANI, Govinda recalled the intense emotional pain he experienced after his mother’s death. He said that during that period, he reached a point where he felt that everything was over.
According to the actor, his emotional struggle became so intense that he began thinking that perhaps he could somehow meet his mother again. In that state of grief, he went towards the Narmada River and began entering the water.
Govinda acknowledged that he had thoughts of suicide at the time. He described the experience as an extremely difficult and emotionally overwhelming phase of his life.
