Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh: Panic spread in Jungle Sakhni village under the Gulriha police station area of Gorakhpur on Saturday morning after the body of a young man was found hanging from a tree. The deceased was identified as Krishna, son of Ram Prasad and a resident of the village. Police reached the spot after receiving information and took the body into custody before sending it for a post-mortem examination.
The deceased’s mother has accused the family of a young woman from the village of having her son murdered. According to her, members of the woman’s family had allegedly threatened to kill Krishna after refusing to accept their marriage. She claimed that her son’s body was later found hanging from a tree.
According to available information, the body was seen hanging from a tree near Chandrashekhar Azad Public School on Saturday morning. Villagers immediately informed the Gulriha police. A police team reached the scene, brought the body down and began collecting necessary evidence from the location.
Krishna worked at a poultry farm in the village and was the younger of two brothers. News of his death caused grief and panic among family members. Within a short time, hundreds of villagers had gathered at the scene.
According to the family, Krishna was in a relationship with a young woman from the same village. His mother alleged that the two wanted to get married, but the woman’s family opposed the relationship. She further claimed that Krishna had previously received threats over the proposed marriage.
The mother has demanded a fair investigation and strict action against those responsible. However, police have not yet confirmed whether the case involves murder and have kept all aspects of the incident under investigation.
Police said they are examining all possible angles, including a love affair and the possibility of murder. The exact cause of death will be determined on the basis of the post-mortem report and evidence collected from the scene. According to police officials, further legal action will be taken after the investigation is completed.
