The police have arrested his wife, Kajal, along with her alleged lover, Yogendra, for conspiring in the killing. The crime took place during the night of October 14-15, when Gopal was sleeping in his room.
Background and Relationship Discord
Gopal, originally from Koomarpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district, had been working in Faridabad for about 15 years. He married Kajal in Faridabad, but the couple lived separately due to Gopal’s work commitments. Kajal lived with their children in their native village. According to police, Kajal was acquainted with Yogendra, a local man from the village, which had been a source of conflict between the spouses.
Gopal’s brother, Bhura, reported that ongoing disputes about Kajal’s relationship with Yogendra had caused tension within the family. This animosity is believed to have led to the fatal plan to murder Gopal.
The Murder and Police Investigation
On the morning of October 15, Bhura received a call reporting that Gopal was unwell. Upon arriving at the scene in Faridabad’s Shyam Colony, Bhura found Gopal dead in his room. The police were notified immediately, and a murder case was registered at Palla police station.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Kajal arrived in Faridabad from her village on October 13 and stayed at a relative’s house. Gopal frequently visited this house due to family connections. On the night of October 14-15, Gopal was reportedly intoxicated when he came to the house. When he fell asleep, Kajal is accused of stabbing him in the neck with a knife, leading to his death.
Authorities found evidence suggesting that the murder was premeditated, including plans to get Gopal out of the way before executing the attack.
Arrests and Ongoing Inquiry
The DLF Crime Branch of Faridabad police arrested Kajal and Yogendra. Both are currently being interrogated to uncover additional details regarding the conspiracy and the attack itself. Yogendra also hails from Koomarpur village in Hathras.
