New Delhi, Delhi. For candidates preparing for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), understanding the syllabus and exam pattern is extremely important. While an official announcement regarding the examination date is still awaited, candidates are advised not to delay their preparation and to organise their studies according to the prescribed syllabus.
CTET consists of two papers. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to become eligible to teach Classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is conducted for candidates seeking eligibility to teach Classes 6 to 8.
CTET Paper 1 Exam Pattern
Paper 1 consists of a total of 150 multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying one mark. The examination includes questions from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
Each subject carries 30 questions, making a total of 150 questions and 150 marks.
CTET Paper 2 Exam Pattern
Paper 2 also consists of 150 questions carrying a total of 150 marks. There are 30 questions each from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, and Language II.
The remaining 60 questions are from either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science, depending on the subject selected by the candidate.
Prepare According to the Syllabus
During preparation, candidates should focus on every topic mentioned in the official syllabus rather than simply studying the subjects in a general manner. Previous years’ question papers and mock tests can help candidates better understand the examination pattern.
Regular practice, effective time management and special attention to weaker subjects are important for success in the CTET examination. Candidates should rely only on official CBSE and CTET notifications for any new information or updates regarding the examination date.
