Anupriya Goenka Missed Out on ‘War 2’; Says Opportunities in Big-Budget Films Are Limited

Actress Anupriya Goenka has revealed that she was initially set to be a part of Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming film War 2, but the opportunity slipped away at the final stage. Speaking in a recent interview, she said she was naturally disappointed but considers such situations to be a part of the profession and remains hopeful about better opportunities in the future.
Anupriya began her career with appearances in major Bollywood productions such as Tiger Zinda Hai and War. Although her performances in these films were appreciated by audiences, she said she did not continue receiving similar opportunities in big-budget projects in the years that followed.
The actress explained that securing desired roles in the film industry is never easy. On many occasions, actors are associated with a project during the early stages but fail to make the final cast due to various reasons. According to her, a similar situation occurred with War 2, and she eventually could not be part of the film.
Anupriya said that big-budget films often have a limited number of substantial roles for women, and the competition for those roles is extremely intense. As a result, many talented actors have to wait longer for meaningful opportunities. She added that, for her, a compelling story and a well-written character are more important than the size of a film’s budget.
The actress also believes that the rise of OTT platforms has significantly expanded opportunities for performers. She noted that streaming platforms offer more character-driven roles that allow actors to showcase their craft. According to Anupriya, she is not interested in being part of a film merely for screen presence but prefers roles that leave a lasting impact on audiences.
She further emphasized that continuous learning and self-improvement are essential in the entertainment industry. Every actor experiences ups and downs in their career, she said, but perseverance, patience, and hard work remain the key ingredients for long-term success.
War 2 is among the most anticipated films of the year. Alongside Hrithik Roshan, the film stars Jr. NTR and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles.
