Minister Subodh Uniyal Apologizes to Daler Mehndi, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Invites Them to Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal has apologized to renowned singer Daler Mehndi following a controversy at a religious event where Daler Mehndi’s performance was abruptly stopped. The apology came through a phone call, which helped ease tensions after the incident sparked widespread debate.

Incident at Siddhpeeth Maa Kunjapuri Fair

The dispute began during the ‘Siddhpeeth Maa Kunjapuri Tourism and Development Fair,’ where Subodh Uniyal interrupted Daler Mehndi’s performance. The minister alleged that Mehndi was intoxicated and lip-syncing during the Navratri celebration, which caused the program to be halted midway.

This action drew criticism and quickly escalated into a public controversy. Following the event, musician Mika Singh expressed his concerns about the treatment of artists during public shows and advocated for respect towards senior performers like Daler Mehndi, who have significantly contributed to the music industry.

Resolution Through Apology and Invitation

According to IANS, after a phone conversation between Subodh Uniyal and Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh’s team appreciated the minister’s gesture of apology. The statement emphasized the importance of respecting artists and acknowledged Daler Mehndi’s prominent status within the industry.

The team urged everyone to move past the event with mutual respect and understanding, hoping the controversy would not escalate further. Mika Singh himself wished to avoid prolonging the issue and welcomed the minister’s apology.

Furthermore, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami spoke to both brothers and extended an invitation for them to visit Uttarakhand. Mika Singh revealed that they plan to perform in the state soon, highlighting the CM’s role in diplomatically handling the matter.

During a press conference, Mika Singh praised Dhami’s approach and described the Chief Minister as humble and grounded. He shared that Dhami personally apologized on behalf of the minister but reassured them that no fault was found with Daler Mehndi’s conduct at the event.

The incident remains a notable example of the complexities surrounding public performances during religious festivals and the sensitivity required in such environments. The controversy subsided thanks to clear communication and conciliatory efforts by all parties involved.
