Ramgarh police have arrested a husband and his sister-in-law in connection with the murder of the man’s wife, following a domestic dispute linked to an illicit relationship. The incident occurred on the night of October 17 in Rauta Roshan Nagar, within the Kujju police station area.
Discovery and Initial Investigation
The body of Jeba Parveen was found under suspicious circumstances on the night of October 17. Kujju police responded promptly, securing the scene and sending the body for a postmortem examination conducted under medical board supervision. Forensic experts collected key evidence from the scene as the case quickly drew attention due to suspicious conditions surrounding the death.
The police began their investigation focusing on the possibility of homicide. Initial leads pointed toward the victim’s husband, Gulam Sarwar, also known as Rajan, whose relationship with Jeba appeared troubled. The authorities formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the direction of the Ramgarh Superintendent of Police and led by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer to delve deeper into the case.
Domestic Dispute and Arrests
According to police sources, Gulam Sarwar had an alleged affair with his wife’s younger sister, Neha Parveen. This affair had reportedly caused frequent quarrels between the couple. The tension escalated on October 17, when an argument broke out involving the three, culminating in violence.
Police allege that during the dispute, Gulam Sarwar assaulted his wife by forcefully hitting her head against a wall. She sustained fatal injuries and lost consciousness. Following the incident, Gulam Sarwar fled the scene. Subsequent investigations and evidence led to the arrests of both Gulam Sarwar and Neha Parveen.
The victim’s family lodged a formal complaint on October 18, accusing Gulam Sarwar and Neha Parveen of murder. The SIT gathered technical and material evidence from the crime scene and interviewed local witnesses to build the case.
The police have confirmed that the underlying motive appears to be the illicit relationship between the husband and his sister-in-law, fueling tensions that resulted in the fatal confrontation. Both accused remain in custody as further legal procedures unfold, and the investigation continues.
