Rahul Gandhi Wants to Mislead the Country and Incite Civil War, Claims Nishikant Dubey in Sharp Attack

New Delhi, Delhi

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has launched a sharp attack on Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. Dubey alleged that Gandhi is misleading the country over the Election Commission and attempting to repeat history. He also claimed that such politics could create a situation resembling civil war in the country.

Referring to the 1983 Nellie massacre in Assam, Nishikant Dubey said that the incident could have been prevented. He claimed that around 5,000 Bangladeshi Muslims were killed in Nellie in a single night, while thousands of others were injured. According to him, the bodies of several victims could not even be recovered.

Dubey alleged that there were serious disagreements at the time over holding elections in Assam. He said that the then Chief Election Commissioner had repeatedly maintained that Lok Sabha and Assembly elections should not be held in Assam without the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The BJP MP said in his statement that elections in India should be conducted exclusively by Indian voters. He alleged that then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi held elections in 1983 in the name of Muslim appeasement, following which violence erupted in Assam.

According to Dubey, Assam continued to experience violence and tension for a long period after the incident. He accused Rahul Gandhi of attempting to repeat the same history.

His remarks come at a time when political parties are engaged in intense exchanges over issues related to the electoral process and voter lists. While accusing Rahul Gandhi of misleading people regarding the Election Commission, Dubey linked his allegations to the events that took place in Assam in 1983.
