PM Modi to Attend UPSC Centenary Celebrations Today, Release Commemorative Coin and Postage Stamp

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the centenary celebrations of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Thursday. The event is scheduled to begin at 11 AM, and the Prime Minister will also address the gathering.

The UPSC was established in 1926. The year-long centenary celebrations marking the completion of 100 years of the commission will conclude on Thursday. On this special occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release a commemorative coin and postage stamp marking the UPSC’s centenary year.

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will also launch a book titled “100 Landmark Judgements.” The book will highlight significant judicial judgments related to the UPSC and its functioning.

The event will be attended by chairpersons and members of State Public Service Commissions from across the country. Senior Central Government officials, academics, UPSC officials and other stakeholders are also expected to participate in the celebrations.

The UPSC conducts competitive examinations at the national level for recruitment to several important government services. Through examinations such as the Civil Services Examination, the commission plays a crucial role in selecting qualified candidates for India’s administrative system.

The centenary celebrations will mark an important milestone in the UPSC’s 100-year journey. The event will highlight the commission’s historical role, institutional evolution and contribution to India’s administrative framework.

Preparations for the Prime Minister’s programme have been completed at Bharat Mandapam. The presence of representatives from various sectors is expected to make the occasion significant. During his address, PM Modi is also expected to discuss the role of the UPSC and its future direction.
