Petrol Becomes ₹5 and Diesel ₹3 More Expensive: Petroleum Company Hikes Prices with Immediate Effect

New Delhi, Delhi

Petrol and diesel prices have been increased in India. Nayara Energy, one of the country’s largest private fuel retailers, has raised the price of petrol by ₹5 per litre and diesel by ₹3 per litre. The company’s revised rates came into effect from Saturday morning.

The price hike comes amid an increase in the prices of crude oil and refined petroleum products in international markets. Rising global energy prices have increased cost pressures on the fuel retail business. Against this backdrop, Nayara Energy has revised its petrol and diesel prices.

According to sources, the revised prices were implemented from Saturday morning across Nayara Energy’s 7,108 fuel stations nationwide. This means customers at the company’s outlets will now have to pay ₹5 more per litre for petrol and ₹3 more per litre for diesel compared with the previous prices.

However, other major government-owned oil marketing companies have not increased petrol and diesel prices for the time being. As a result, the price increase at Nayara Energy outlets is different from the pricing adopted by other major fuel retailers.

The company’s latest price adjustment comes at a time when rising global energy prices are putting pressure on the fuel industry.

Nayara Energy has also adjusted fuel prices earlier this year. The latest increase has been implemented amid elevated international crude oil and refined petroleum product prices.

The revised rates have come into effect from Saturday morning across all 7,108 Nayara Energy fuel stations.
