Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The monsoon has once again become active across Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall and thunderstorms in most parts of the state over the next 24 hours. A warning for extremely heavy rainfall has been issued for Rajgarh, Sidhi, Dindori and Balaghat.
According to the weather department, these districts may receive between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm of rainfall. Narmadapuram recorded 92.8 mm of rain during the previous 24 hours. Several other districts are also likely to experience heavy rainfall and strong winds.
Rainfall activity has intensified due to active weather systems affecting the region. A low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand and northern Odisha is moving northwestward, influencing weather conditions in Madhya Pradesh.
Heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places in Vidisha, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Betul, Shajapur, Guna, Shivpuri, Rewa, Mauganj, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur and Pandhurna.
The Meteorological Department has also warned of thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph in several districts. People have been advised to avoid standing in open areas or under trees during adverse weather conditions.
