Market Skincare Products Don’t Suit You? Try These Traditional Alternatives for Facial Cleansing

New Delhi, Delhi: Changing weather, increasing pollution, and an irregular lifestyle can all affect facial skin. The use of face washes and other skincare products available in the market has become common, but not every product is suitable for every skin type. Some people may experience dryness, irritation, or allergic reactions after using new products.

As a result, there has been growing interest in traditional homemade cleansers made from common household ingredients. Items such as gram flour, yogurt, honey, milk, and tomatoes have long been used as part of traditional skincare routines.

Gram Flour, Yogurt, and Honey Mixture: Take a small bowl and mix one teaspoon of gram flour (besan) with one teaspoon of yogurt. Add half a teaspoon of honey and mix well. Apply the mixture gently to the face and wash it off with plain water after a few minutes. If you have highly sensitive skin, it is important to perform a patch test first.

Coffee and Honey: A paste can be prepared by mixing one teaspoon of coffee powder with one teaspoon of honey. Apply it gently to the face. Coffee particles can act like an exfoliating scrub, but excessive rubbing may cause skin irritation or damage.

Using Raw Milk: Soak a cotton pad in a small amount of milk and gently apply it to the face. Afterwards, wash the face with water. People who are allergic to milk or experience skin problems after using it should avoid this method.

Tomato and Rose Water: The face can first be gently cleansed with rose water. After that, a sliced tomato can be lightly applied to the skin in circular motions. Wash the face with water after a few minutes. Tomato juice may cause irritation on sensitive skin.

Experts believe that even natural ingredients should be used carefully. No homemade remedy should automatically be considered completely safe for everyone. It is advisable to test the product on a small area of skin first and discontinue use immediately if any allergy, itching, swelling, or irritation occurs.
