Shri Renukaji, Himachal Pradesh
A tribute programme was organised at Maina Bagh to mark the 78th birth anniversary and 15th death anniversary of late Dr. Prem Singh, former MLA of the Shri Renukaji Assembly constituency and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary. A large number of people attended the event and paid tribute to Dr. Prem Singh. Several senior Congress leaders remembered his political career and his contributions to the development of the region.
Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Industries Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Himachal Congress in-charge and former Rajya Sabha MP Rajni Patil, Pradesh Congress Committee president and Shri Renukaji MLA Vinay Kumar, and Nahan MLA Ajay Solanki were among those present at the programme.
Dr. Prem Singh had represented the Shri Renukaji Assembly constituency six times. Congress leaders recalled his long political career, commitment to the party organisation, and role in the development of the constituency.
Development Projects Inaugurated
Before the tribute programme, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri inaugurated several development projects in the region. These included the renovation of the Jal Shakti Department’s Junior Engineer office and residential facility at Pipligat, constructed at a cost of ₹70 lakh.
A ₹1.12 crore lift drinking water supply scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission for various villages of Gram Panchayat Chadna was also inaugurated. In addition, a ₹2.12 crore gravity-based drinking water supply scheme for Sanga, Satahan, and surrounding villages was dedicated to the public.
The Deputy Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a new bus stand at Nauradhar, which is estimated to cost around ₹1 crore.
Rajni Patil Calls for Party Unity
Addressing the gathering, Himachal Congress in-charge Rajni Patil paid tribute to Dr. Prem Singh on his birth and death anniversaries. Referring to the large gathering, she said the participation reflected the respect and affection people of the region continue to have for Dr. Prem Singh.
Rajni Patil said that people who work with dedication and loyalty toward the Congress party are given respect and appropriate responsibilities within the organisation. She appealed to party workers to rise above personal differences and work together with unity.
Leadership Is Built Through Struggle and Dedication
During the programme, leaders remembered Dr. Prem Singh’s political journey and emphasised that leadership is not created simply through a position or an opportunity. It is built over years through struggle, sacrifice, dedication to the organisation, and consistent work among the people.
The large presence of Congress leaders and workers at the event marking Dr. Prem Singh’s birth and death anniversaries highlighted his influence within the party organisation and his political legacy in the region. Through the tribute programme, leaders also expressed their commitment to carrying forward his ideals and spirit of public service.
