A highly serious case involving the alleged rape of a woman with an intellectual disability and an abortion has come to light in Karnataka’s Gadag district. Police have arrested seven people in connection with the case, including a doctor and a staff nurse. A case was registered at the Gadag Women’s Police Station on July 26 in connection with the incident. Following the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested seven people. The arrested accused have been identified as Sikandar Gulabsab Bepari, Shabbir Ahmed Langoti alias Junsab, Pradeep Sagar Navalekar, Bharat Mahadevappa Koravar, Sandeep Sagar Navalekar, RMP doctor Nagaraj Kamat and staff nurse Rekha Shirahatti.
According to police, the allegations involve the alleged rape of the woman with an intellectual disability and a subsequent abortion. Given the woman’s mental condition, police are treating the matter as highly sensitive.
Investigation Into the Role of Doctor and Nurse
