New Delhi, Delhi
Gold and silver prices showed a mixed trend on Monday. In the bullion market in the national capital, gold became ₹600 more expensive per 10 grams. As a result, the price of 99.9% pure 24-carat gold increased to ₹1,56,800 per 10 grams.
In the previous trading session, gold had closed at ₹1,56,200 per 10 grams. A weaker US dollar and positive signals from international markets were among the key factors supporting the rise in gold prices.
Silver Prices Remain Unchanged
Unlike gold, silver prices remained stable on Monday. According to local traders, silver was priced at ₹2,40,000 per kilogram, including all taxes. This marks the second consecutive trading session in which silver has remained at the same level.
Investors in the precious metals market are currently closely watching international market signals. Movements in the US dollar, expectations surrounding interest rates and global economic conditions remain key factors influencing gold and silver prices.
Weaker Dollar Supports Gold
A weaker US dollar generally provides support to precious metals priced in dollars. This can make gold relatively more attractive to investors purchasing it in other currencies.
This factor contributed to the rise in domestic gold prices on Monday. However, with gold trading at elevated levels, the outlook for domestic demand will also remain important.
Markets Watching the Fed and Trump’s Decisions
Markets are now closely watching the monetary policy stance of the US Federal Reserve as well as economic decisions associated with President Donald Trump. Signals from the Federal Reserve regarding interest rates and economic policies adopted by the US administration could influence the dollar and global investor sentiment.
If dollar weakness and global uncertainty persist, gold prices could continue to receive support. On the other hand, a strengthening dollar or changing market expectations regarding interest rates could lead to volatility in gold and silver prices.
For now, in the Delhi bullion market, 24-carat gold is priced at ₹1,56,800 per 10 grams, while silver stands at ₹2,40,000 per kilogram.
