The Superintendent of Police (SP) revealed that the detained suspects were involved in impersonating candidates attempting to take the entrance exam on behalf of others. This illicit activity was uncovered during stringent monitoring at examination centers, prompting immediate investigation and arrests.

Further investigations have extended to questioning an estimated 10 to 12 other individuals believed to be connected with the racket. These include biometric operators and middlemen who allegedly facilitated the impersonation scheme. The SP highlighted that such collaborations indicate a larger network that sought to manipulate the examination outcomes through fraudulent means.

The ongoing probe aims to identify all participants involved to ensure strict legal action is taken. Authorities are working closely with exam officials and biometric technicians to scrutinize records and trace any irregularities related to candidate verification processes.

The NEET-UG exam, a critical gateway for aspiring medical students in India, has witnessed increased scrutiny following past incidents of fraud. Bihar’s law enforcement agencies have reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards cheating and malpractice, emphasizing the need for transparency and fairness in such high-stake examinations.

Local officials and educational authorities have appealed to candidates and the public to cooperate with the investigations and refrain from participating in or supporting unethical practices. The police department also assured that all necessary measures are being adopted to prevent any further misconduct during the remainder of the examination schedule.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities remain vigilant, determined to uphold the sanctity of the NEET-UG examination and protect the interests of genuine candidates striving to secure their place in medical education through merit and hard work.
