Rajasthan-based ultra-marathon runner Sufiya Sufi has started an extraordinary 5,000-kilometre run from Kanyakumari to Karakoram to pay tribute to India\u2019s Armed Forces. The endurance challenge, titled \u201cRun For Dreams: Kanyakumari to Karakoram,\u201d<\/em> began on May 12 from Sunrise Point at Kanyakumari Beach and is expected to cover 11 states in 88 days.<\/p>\n

Known for her Guinness World Records and long-distance achievements, Sufiya is aiming to complete one of the toughest runs of her career while also attempting what could become her sixth world record. Battling intense heat, humidity and exhausting road stretches, the Ajmer-born athlete has been sharing regular updates of her journey on social media.<\/p>\n

A Tribute To India\u2019s Bravehearts<\/h3>\n

Sufiya said the expedition is dedicated to Indian Armed Forces personnel who sacrifice their lives for the nation. In one of her posts, she described the run as \u201cIndia\u2019s Most Extreme Endurance Run\u201d and thanked supporters for their encouragement.<\/p>\n

On the first day of the journey, she completed the opening stretch and announced that Day 2 would include a 52-km run towards Tirunelveli.
