Delhi SIR Update: BLOs Pledge No Genuine Voter Will Be Left Behind During Electoral Roll Revision
Election officials say 97% of voter forms have been distributed as the Systematic Electoral Roll (SIR) revision progresses across Delhi.

Delhi’s SIR voter list revision gains pace with 97% form distribution. BLOs reaffirm their commitment to ensure no genuine voter is left out.
New Delhi witnesses a vigorous push in the Systematic Electoral Roll (SIR) update process as the city prepares for upcoming polls. According to the electoral authorities, the national capital’s electoral roll, frozen on June 16, lists a total of 1.45 crore registered voters.
As of July 13, election officials have made significant progress with the distribution of electoral forms. Approximately 1.40 crore forms, accounting for 97% of the total, have been distributed to voters across the capital. The distribution aims to ensure voter details are verified and updated, minimizing chances of errors or exclusion from the final list.
Moreover, the digitisation drive has also gained momentum. To date, around 14.03 lakh voter records, or nearly 9.68% of the electoral roll, have been digitalised to improve accessibility and maintain accuracy. This digitisation is expected to streamline the electoral process and facilitate easier maintenance and verification of voter data in the future.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs), the frontline personnel responsible for electoral data verification, have expressed strong determination to complete their tasks meticulously. They have vowed to ensure that no genuine voter is left out from the updated rolls. Their efforts play a crucial role in preserving the integrity of the democratic process by guaranteeing that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to participate in elections.
The Delhi State Election Commission has reiterated the importance of cooperation from citizens during the SIR process. Voters are encouraged to promptly fill out and return the forms to their respective BLOs and raise any discrepancies or issues without hesitation. The authorities have also put in place measures to facilitate easy submission and verification of forms to speed up the update procedure.
As the SIR effort enters its critical phases, the combined commitment of election officials and citizen participation aims to create a cleaner, more accurate electoral roll. This foundational exercise is integral to upholding democratic values and ensuring free and fair elections in the national capital.
