According to police, the incident took place on July 13 near Upparapalya Lake in the Kodigehalli area of Bengaluru. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she fought for her life for two days before succumbing to her injuries on July 15.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was known to the victim and had expressed his desire to marry her. The victim later discovered that the accused was already married and had a child. Investigators allege that after she rejected his marriage proposal, he allegedly planned and carried out the attack.

Police said the victim’s brother attempted to intervene during the assault but was also injured. The accused initially fled the scene but was later traced and arrested by Bengaluru police. Authorities are now questioning him to determine whether the attack was premeditated.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage, witness statements, and other evidence to establish the sequence of events. Police are also investigating whether anyone else was involved in planning or assisting the crime.
