Sumeet Raghavan Condemns Tourist Littering at Himachal Pradesh’s Tattapani Hot Springs

Actor Sumeet Raghavan has spoken out against the littering he witnessed at Himachal Pradesh’s Tattapani hot springs, highlighting the issue during a recent visit with a group from Indus Paragliding School.

Encounter at Tattapani Hot Springs

During his trip with people from various professions, including an architect named Dushyant, Raghavan and his group discovered garbage along the trail to the hot springs. They collected the waste and shared a video on Instagram showing the amount of litter and expressing their concern over the situation.

In the video, Raghavan introduced himself and others in the group before showing a bag filled with collected trash. He emphasized the excessive litter scattered around despite their efforts to clean part of it up.

Calling Out the Problem

Raghavan called the situation shameful and expressed frustration, saying it felt like a deep-rooted issue. He appealed to the Himachal Pradesh government for stricter action against littering, stressing the importance of protecting such a beautiful location.

He also used the video to expose the contrast between the natural beauty of the site and the filth left behind by visitors, urging better responsibility from tourists and authorities alike.

Public Reaction

The post sparked varied reactions among social media users. Some lamented the ‘chalta hai’ attitude that leads to environmental neglect, while others noted that even with dustbins available along trails, people often ignore proper disposal.

Some commenters highlighted the shared responsibility of citizens in maintaining cleanliness, pointing out how overseas Indians, when abroad, tend to follow rules more strictly due to penalties, suggesting a cultural shift is needed rather than solely blaming the government.
