Troubled by repeated thefts over the past two months, villagers have now started conducting night patrols, locally known as ‘Thikri Pehra,’ to protect their homes and families.
Residents say the police station is located around three kilometres from the village, yet they have been forced to monitor the streets and surrounding areas themselves during the night.

Villagers claim that repeated theft incidents have created an atmosphere of fear. They also allege that attempts to chase suspicious individuals can become dangerous. According to residents, there have been instances in which suspected thieves allegedly opened fire while being pursued.
Residents Take Security Into Their Own Hands
Frustrated by the repeated incidents, villagers have collectively decided to organise night patrols. Residents are taking turns to monitor the village during the night, saying they are doing so out of concern for the safety of their families and property.
